FAQ:  Frequently Asked Questions

Why hire a professional parliamentarian?
Professional parliamentarians spend countless hours studying the rules so you don't have to

Professional parliamentarians spend countless hours studying the rules so you don't have to.  We are able to advise you quickly on questions that come up at a meeting.  As professional parliamentarians we are completely impartial, we will be able to gain the good will and trust of your members.

Why not use a member parliamentarian?
Member parliamentarians rarely have the training and credentials of a professional parliamentarian.
Member parliamentarians must give up their rights to debate and vote (which is a limitation on their rights).  Member parliamentarians have opinions on the issues.  It's not easy being impartial.

Why not use an attorney?
Very few attorneys have received formal training in parliamentary procedure.
Attorneys are trained to focus on legal issues, not on the issues that will lead to a good meeting;  using an attorney who is not a credential parliamentarian to help you run your meeting makes as much sense as asking a parliamentarian to defend you in court.
